Mechanical Expanding Chucks
- High jaw expansion (over 1/2") grips worn or soft cores
- Minimal internal parts
- No nose cap to catch on cores
- High thrust loading capacity
- Can be maintained on the rollstand
- Low friction due to sealed bearings
- Extra-heavy duty long expansion units up to six inches in length
CST System's line of standard and custom-made core chucks present a new simplicity in design and rigorous construction. With less than ten total parts and no pins or springs, these chucks are easy to assemble, disassemble, and even clean directly on the rollstand.
The high load and torque capacity comes from the one-piece forged steel base, allowing up to 8,000 lbs roll-weight on a standard three inch core or 10,000 lbs on custom models.

- Pneumatic expansion OR Spring expansion with pneumatic contraction
- Nested design allows different core sizes on the same base
- Radial air supply
- Central air supply for rotary joint option available
The pneumatic chucks are Self-centering the roll via cams that are pushed out wards with a pneumatic piston. It is used to lock the core in position without rotation. Available from 70 mm to 12”diameters. It can be customised. Locking power is in proportion to the available air pressure of air. The chucks are used in low tension applications, turrent unwind stands etc.

Side-Pressure Activated Chucks
- Mechanical core chuck activated by side pressure
- Expansion units retract with internal springs
Mechanical Chucks with Core-Kicker
- Uses keys to insure smooth sliding flange action
- Allows multiple core sizes without downtime for exchanging chucks
- Heavy duty system with extended expansion unit length
- Quick-change feature for front chuck from 3" to 8"
Chucks with Quick-Change Feature
- Quick-change from one core chuck size to another with single screw arrangement
- Guided adaptors make changes quick and simple
- Adaptors are lightweight
- Expansion units are heavy duty length
